BUSC - COVID-19 Update

PLAYERS must wear a mask to and from the field, no exceptions.
  • This includes walking from the car to the fields and then leaving the field and back to the car.
  • Players do not need to wear masks while playing / training
  • Players when sitting on team bench during games need to wear masks
  • Players - MUST track symptoms at home - any sickness a players should stay home
COACHES must be wearing a mask at ALL times - no exceptions
  • Must wash pinnies after every practice
  • Should spray cones with lysol after practice or before next practice
  • Pinnies should not be worn by more than one individual
PARENTS must wear a mask if you are standing on the sidelines of practice or games, no exceptions
  • For practices, we strongly encourage parents to go back to cars and not linger or go for a walk.
  • Social Distance should be kept between all parents, we understand that sports can be social experience for parents, but if we want to return to normal we must continue to social distance at practice and games.

If a player or family member has symptoms, has come in contact with some who has tested positive or has tested positive themselves, they must immediately contact their coach who will report to the club.
The club will then inform the team of what the situation is and what next steps are.
Governor's Updated Mask Policy
With the State of Maryland's new mandate on masks outdoors things should be pretty simple, wear the mask when in doubt.
Tournaments & Leagues
Tournaments and leagues have begun to release their social distancing guidelines. One of the key items I am seeing on almost every tournament event is the limit to ONE parent attending matches for their son or daughter.
Some other measures include field spacing, markers for that one parent to sit on the side line socially distanced from others, etc.
Leagues are beginning to release guidelines as well, including parents sitting 6ft apart on sidelines, teams wearing masks while out of the games, coaches wearing at all times. Additionally I have seen several leagues requiring teams to set up on opposite side lines and
We ask that at Baltimore Union fields you continue to honor the guidelines above, not doing so could jeopardize the field permits for our entire 750 player club and more importantly all our players and parents health.
We have always strived to be the standard at Union or the example to follow, this is no different. I am well aware of other clubs, sports and activities in the area, even on the same fields we use not following the guidelines. Let's set the standard so our sport that we love and our club that we love continue toward an actual Fall season.

We hope to see you back on the pitch in the near future!
