Exciting News: Colin Devlin Appointed Girls Director of Coaching
All-Metro Coach of the Year & longtime Maryvale Prep Head Coach Colin Devlin has joined Union as our Girls Director of Coaching

Baltimore Union SC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Colin Devlin as its new Girls Director of Coaching.

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Colin is widely respected as a top-tier developer of talent and a leader of character and integrity. His addition marks a major step forward in the club’s commitment to excellence in player development and mentorship on the girls’ side of Union.

Colin currently serves as the long-standing Head Coach at Maryvale Preparatory School, where he has led the program to multiple IAMM titles. His accolades include being named IAMM Coach of the Year, Maryland High School State Coach of the Year, and most recently, the Baltimore Sun All-Metro Coach of the Year. Off the field, Colin takes great pride in the academic achievements of his players as his teams have consistently ranked among the highest GPAs at Maryvale, earning that distinction numerous times over his 21-year tenure.

Originally from Ireland, Colin played at a high level in his youth before relocating to the United States at age 21. Since then, he has built a stellar coaching career in the Baltimore area and holds the NSCAA National Diploma.

But beyond the résumé, Colin is known for his passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to player-first development.

Coach Colin Devlin shared his excitement about joining Baltimore Union SC:

“The Baltimore Union DOC platform provides me with an incredible opportunity to continue to develop girls and promote the Women’s game. It was an easy decision to join Union as I’ve known some of its leaders for years and know they share the same passion and vision for a player-centric environment. I look forward to bringing Energy, Encouragement, and Empowerment for success to our coaches, players, and families. Truly excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to grow together.”

Baltimore Union Executive Director Frank Assaro added:

“I’ve known Colin for over 20 years as we coached together during the Baltimore Colts FC run to a national title in 2005. Colin is a workhorse. His passion for teaching the game is contagious and becomes evident within minutes of speaking with him. Ask anyone, especially former players or their parents and you’ll hear nothing but praise. He lives and breathes “development” and is 100% committed to doing what’s best for each player. In camp, he thrives on breaking down the game and helping young players grow. He’s exactly the kind of coach and mentor we want on the field, around our players, and supporting our coaching staff at Union.”
